Our last day in Italian-speaking Lugano, we visited the Swiss Miniature (world). The creators made an accurate scaled version of the most iconic places in Switzerland. It was a great place to visit before we headed home: it provided a glimpse into all the places we couldn't see.
Diane was in mini paradise. She loves miniatures and the artistic detail each of these models. It was a fascinating experience, without the masses of tourists.
Checking out of the LuganoDante Hotel, we headed to Lucern where we visited the famous Chapel Bridge. Although it is known for it's antiquity, it had burned down in 1993 and what we were walking on was a new bridge.
But nearby, was a truly old bridge that hadn't been refurbished. The Spreuerbrücke (or Mill Bridge) was originally constructed in 1408.
Leaving Switzerland, our passports were stamped and we embarked on a very long day. Our airplane was flying faster than the earth was spinning. Although our flight left at 1:30 pm Swiss time, it was still daylight 12 hours later when we arrived in San Francisco at 4:30pm.
